Stewart Wayne Shaver
Stewart Wayne Shaver
(October 16, 1968 - April 19, 2010)

Funeral services for Stewart Wayne Shaver age 41 of Elkhart, will be 10:00 AM Friday at Evangelistic Temple with Dr. Barry Roberts, Rev. Lynn Willhite and Rev. Wayne Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Shaver passed away Monday in Port Arthur.
He was born October 16, 1968 in Freeport, to Donald Shaver and Brenda Graves.
He graduated from Elkhart high School in 1987 and Lamar University in 1995. He served for seven years on the Newton ISD School Board and was a member of the Lions Club and coached Little League. Mr. Shaver was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved riding his Harley and enjoyed horses. He was employed by Becon. He was a Christian and a loving father.
Mr. Shaver is survived by his father Donald Shaver of Palestine, mother and step-father Brenda and Jim Graves of Elkhart, children Haley Love Shaver and Kollin Wayne Shaver of Newton, brother Scott Shaver of Elkhart, sister Jamie Shaver Woods of Sour Lake, nephews Dillon Shaver and Preston Shaver of Elkhart, nieces Kayla Woods and Abigail Woods of Sour Lake and special friend Jessica Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Joe Love, Chad Coker, Ben Maddox, Josh Woods, Clint Havard and Mark Glover. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jody Parker, Joel Parker, Roy Conn, Ernie Bice, Clay Rutledge, James May, Ryan Westbrook and Billy Hamby.
Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Bailey & Foster.

Judge N.R. Link
(June 3, 1918 - December 10, 2009)Former Anderson County Judge N.R. Link passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009, after a long illness, at his home near Montalba, Texas. He was 91½ years old. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. John Green of Athens, Texas officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
Condolence calls will be received from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Judge Link is survived by his three children Nelson Link and daughter-in-law Francis, Andy Link and daughter-in-law Shelia, and daughter, Charla Link all of Palestine. He leaves behind seven grandchildren: Jesseca Thompson, Anna Gholson, Levi Link, Sarah Link all of Palestine, Andrew Link of Lewisville, Texas Justin Link of Dallas, Texas, Micah Link of Lytle, Texas and his six great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Wanda Schulze and her husband Ed of Conroe, Texas and one brother Darwin Link and wife Joan of Tennessee Colony, Texas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Gwendol Ann Ellis of Frankston, Texas and his second wife Francis Wallace of Athens, Texas, his mother Inez Link, father N.L. Link, and a brother Alan Link.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Link, Levi Link, Don Williams, Bobby Stoval, Jessie Light, Jim Ricard, Dickie Douglas and Eugene Arnett. Honorary pallbearers will be W.E. Chaney, Ed Stovall, Leon Rusty Collins and Judge Carey McKinney.

Ernest Lane
(April 28, 1919 - October 8, 2009)
Services for Ernest Lane, age 90, of Palestine will be at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Jay Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
Mr. Lane died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at his residence.
He was born April 28, 1919, in Anderson County to Louis and Mary Walker Lane.
Mr. Lane graduated from Palestine High School and owned and operated the City Shoe Shop in Palestine since 1943. A lifelong supporter of the Palestine Wildcats and anything connected to his grandchildren, he traveled the United States to be a part of their lives. He will be greatly missed. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Palestine.
Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Cecil Lane, Vernon Lane and Charles Lane.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Clara Lane of Palestine, a daughter Marylyn Lane DeFilippo and husband John of Houston, son Robert Lane and wife Sandra of Palestine, brother Jack Lane, five grandchildren Melanie Lane Dulworth and husband Paul, Scott Lane and wife Emily, Anthony DeFilippo and wife Laura, Christina DeFilippo Mack, and husband Peter, David DeFilippo and two great grandchildren Max Dulworth and Lucas DeFilippo.
Pallbearers will be Anthony DeFilippo, Cpt. David DeFilippo, Scott Lane, Paul Dulworth, Dr. Pete Mack, and Paul Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Leroy Mathis, Proctor Moore, Judge Bascom Bentley and Duane Raines.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Vernice Dickson, Patsy Morrison, JoAnn Brookings and all those who so lovingly helped care for him.

Tracie O'Neill Alexander
(December 23, 1970 - October 4, 2009)

Services for Tracie O’Neill Alexander “Sunshine” 38 of Palestine, will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, at Evangelistic Temple with Dr. Barry Roberts and Rev. Jack Smith Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Alexander passed away Sunday, October 4, 2009 in Palestine.
She was born December 23, 1970 in Palestine to Phillip W. Alexander and Barbara Boice Alexander.
She was a member of Calvary Christian Center. She was a salesperson with Bass Fishing & Rentals in Jewett.
Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her grandparents Gerald and Helen Boice, J.W. and Cora M. Allen, John and Cecile Alexander.
She is survived by mother Barbara Alexander of Palestine, father Phillip W. Alexander of Lake Palestine, sons Dustin McKee of Palestine and Dakota McKee of Lubbock, daughter Tiffany McKee of Palestine, granddaughter Jaycee Ford of Palestine, sisters Cathy Green and husband Jason of Neches and Christine Alexander of Palestine, brother Gerald Alexander of Palestine, aunts Deborah Conrad of Lubbock and Nancy Boice of Lubbock, eleven nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Mayo, Tyler Wordel, Josh McMean, Brent Gardner, Johnathan Henry, Blake Henry, Dillion Henry and Jacob Mikos. Honorary pallbearers will be the VFW Post 8924.

Joe Gomez Torrez, Jr.
(March 29, 1984 - September 20, 2009)
Services for Joe Gomez Torrez, Jr. age 25, of Palestine will be at 3:30 P.M. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Msgr. Zacharias Kunnakkattuthara and Pastor Robert Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Torrez died Sunday, September 20, 2009 in Palestine.
He was born March 29, 1984 in Palestine to Joe Torrez, Sr. and Mary Unsworth Torrez.
Mr. Torrez was a 2002 graduate of Westwood High School where he was active in the FFA. He was baptized of the Catholic faith. Mr. Torrez worked in the oilfield business and was employed with 5-J Oilfield Services.
Mr. Torrez was preceded in death by his father Joe Gomez Torrez, Sr., a brother Danny Torrez and a sister Peggy Torrez.
He is survived by his mother Mary Torrez of Palestine, sisters, Sharon Torrez Olvera of Palestine, and Sheila Till of Irving, nieces Adriana Olvera and Heather Torrez, nephews Ryan Turner, Daniel Torrez, Jr., and Joseph Torrez.
Pallbearers will be Darryl “Hilbilly” Henry, Luther Williams, Bernard Sanchez, Ryan Turner, Johnnie Torrez, Mike Aguirre and Cedrick Conaway. .

AJ and Cobin Frazier
(December 29, 2005 - September 18, 2009)
Funeral services for AJ Frazier 3, and Cobin Frazier 2, of Palestine, will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Westwood Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Dees, Rev. Tommy Caskey and Bro. Billy Hall officiating. Burial will be in Land Of Memory. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Master AJ and Master Cobin passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 in Rusk.
AJ was born December 29, 2005 in Grapevine, Texas and Cobin was born July 2, 2007 in Palestine, Texas to Dustin Elliott and Leslee Dianne Wilbanks Frazier.
They are survived by their parents Dustin and Leslee Frazier of Palestine, grandparents Curtis and Debra Frazier, Adalinda Stanick and Randy and Beverly Wilbanks, great grandparents Beth Frazier, Jake Templin, Bobby and Bennie McLeod and Billy and Neta Hall, sister Adalyn Rae Frazier, aunts and uncles Cristi Couch and the late Michael Couch, Jennifer and Jeremy Clark, Glenn and Jennifer Huff, Tracey Huff, Bozy Wilbanks, Mackenzie and Ricky Luff and Chance Frazier, great uncle and great aunt Kevin and Nora Templin, other relatives, Carla Hobson and Allen Hall.

Tucker E. Axum Sr.
(December 23, 1935 - August 15, 2009)
Funeral services for Tucker E. Axum Sr. 73 of Palestine, will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Msgr. Zacharias Kunnakkattuthara officiating with Father Harold Paulsen assisting. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Palestine.
Mr. Axum passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009 at David E. Foster Hospice Unit.
He was born December 23, 1935 in Anderson County to Tucker and Isabel Axum.
He was a US Air Force Veteran and served during Viet Nam. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was formerly employed with TDCJ.
Mr. Axum was preceded in death by his father and brother J.L. Axum.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Axum of Palestine, mother Isabel Axum of Palestine, three daughters Lisa Holcomb, Mary Axum and Christina Axum all of Palestine, two sons Tucker Axum Jr., of Palestine and Chris Axum and wife Dawn of Arlington, two sisters Lurlene Corne of Palestine and Nelda Sue Condra of Dayton, six grandchildren Sara Holcomb, Ashley Frazier, Justin Stanley, Trey Axum Courtney Russell and Emily Axum, one great grandchild Caleb Stanley.
Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.
Rosary will be 6:00 PM Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, condolence calls will be received following rosary.
